Background
Many countries are doing development cooperation in Africa, and among them, that by developing countries or countries that were previously developing countries is increasing. Cooperation by these countries is not merely aid, but cooperation based on the experience of their own development. Therefore, their cooperation has a variety of unique and insightful knowledge in cooperation for Africa.
Japan also has experience in developing own country with aid from other countries and international organizations. With this experience, Japan has emphasized the ownership and self-reliance of partner countries in its development cooperation. It has been also actively promoting triangular cooperation with African, Asian, European, and Latin American countries for Africa and other developing countries.
With this background, at TICAD 9, where African leaders gather to discuss African development, Asian European, and Latin American countries also gather to discuss effective approaches for African cooperation and collaboration among these countries.

Objective
To discuss effective approaches for development cooperation by countries in different regions towards Africa, as well as collaboration among these countries, and to obtain suggestions for the future.
