Background
1. Through the ABE Initiative (African Business Education Initiative for Youth), which was launched on the occasion of TICAD V in 2013, JICA has fostered nearly 1,900 African industrial human resources.
2. To launch of the project's new commitment, ABE Initiative 4.0 (tentative), at TICAD 9, the event has been considered as an opportunity to look back on the achievements of the ABE Initiative to date and reconfirm its significance.
3. At the same time, JICA would like to present the TOMONI Africa concept, a framework to promote the flow of human resources between Japan and Africa, in addition to the acceptance of human resources from Africa to Japan, which has been the focus of the ABE Initiative project. On this occasion, JICA would like to provide an opportunity to increase mutual interest between Japan and Africa.
